|Description||Friendship Retirement Community currently has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Pharmacy Technician within our campus Institutional Pharmacy Department.
The potential candidate must enter prescription orders into the computer. Create and updates patient’s health and insurance information in the computer. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with local, state, federal, and company regulations. Communicate with insurance carriers to obtain payment for the prescription claims. Complete weekly distribution center medication orders, place orders on shelves, and verify all associated paperwork. Assist the pharmacist with filling and labeling prescriptions. Candidate must also respect confidentiality of patient data. Involved in packaging, labeling and recording medications. Inventories, orders and maintains supply of drugs. Must have knowledge of state and federal laws regarding regulation of pharmacy practices.
The successful candidate must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent. Must possess valid state pharmacy technician registration. Must possess a professional demeanor and courteous attitude. Must possess the ability to respect confidentiality of patient data. Must possess strong communication skills. Must possess knowledge of computer operations. Knowledge of medication brand and generic names. Knowledge of insurance and third-party payment. Must be able to work flexible schedule, including one Saturday a month and some holidays. Must maintain pharmacy technician licensure.
