Residents and their families will find hope, healing & comfort with our supportive chaplaincy services
As a resident on any of our Friendship campuses, Chaplaincy Services are available to you by your personal clergy, or if you choose, by our on-site chaplain Reverend Gary Kingery.
Our chaplaincy program seeks to help in supporting local ministry and to encourage the spiritual life of each resident, regardless of his or her religious affiliation or beliefs. Our Chaplain is actively involved in supporting residents and patients through difficult times. The role of the Chaplain is to provide support including questions of purpose, meaning, hope and faith. Our chaplaincy is not a counseling or mental health service. Referrals to medical professionals are made when necessary and appropriate.
Meet our Chaplain
Gary Kingery, Senior Chaplain
Chaplain Gary has been in pastoral ministry since 1986, serving in churches in the Greater Roanoke area. Chaplain Gary was licensed to the ministry by Cave Spring Baptist Church in Roanoke and ordained to the ministry by Mountain View Baptist Church in Catawba, Virginia. Chaplain Gary has a Bachelor of Theology Degree and an Associate Degree in Business Administration/ Management and has served as the spiritual leader of the Richfield Living campus since 2014.
Our Chaplaincy services are free of charge and include:
- Pastoral visits
- Emotional and spiritual support in times of illness, crisis or loss
- Leading Bible studies and Sunday worship services
- Referrals for funerals, memorial services and celebrations of life for patients and residents without faith support
Sunday Services
Richfield: in the Chapel or on channel 62 beginning at 10 am on Sunday mornings. Sunday service is now in person in the new Chapel & Community Room located in the Town Center. Residents are also welcome to attend virtual or in person weekly bible studies and devotions.
