Friendship Announces 2022 Employee Recognition Awards Winners
Local senior living community celebrates team member excellence at annual awards ceremony
ROANOKE, Va. (December 8, 2022) – Friendship, a local leader in senior living and rehabilitation, has selected the winners of its annual recognition awards for 2022. The four awards were presented at the employee recognition awards banquet on December 7.
“We are truly honored and grateful to have so many amazing team members at Friendship,” said President and CEO Joe Hoff. “Their hard work is what makes our community the best in the industry and allows us to consistently deliver compassionate care and innovative services to help people thrive. These awards highlight just some of our Friendship team members whose contributions are exemplary within their departments and across the company. We are proud of all they have accomplished and want them to know their work does not go unnoticed.”
The recognition award winners are:
- Friendship Leadership Award: Tashina Adams, Director of Nursing, Friendship Health and Rehab Center North
- Friendship Achievement Award: William Radford, Payroll & Benefits Manager
- Friendship Community Award: Tanya Scott, Director of Social Services, Friendship Health and Rehab Center North
- Friendship Clinical Award: Pamela Blake, LPN, Friendship Salem Terrace
The Friendship Leadership Award recognizes and honors an individual for providing exemplary leadership consistent with the vision and mission of Friendship. The recipient positively engages those around her to promote quality of care and services, to improve resident experience and quality of life, to enhance resources and environment in support of our mission, and to communicate and educate by engaging partners and teammates, promoting successful strategies, and advocating for success of our goals. Effectively communicating and listening, Director of Nursing Tashina Adams always takes time to help in any area of the facility to assist with, identify, and resolve challenging situations. She has worked hard to build a team that works well together, not just for each other but for the betterment of quality care.
The Friendship Achievement Award recognizes and honors an individual who has made a significant contribution to the success of Friendship. The award is given to an individual with multiple years of service to Friendship, who has made a significant impact for those served and is recognized by his manager or director and peers as being the best-of-the-best at his vocation. Payroll & Benefits Manager William Radford will always go the extra mile to make sure the job is done right. He is very flexible and is always finding ways to overcome day-to-day challenges. Fellow team members can trust, no matter the situation, that he will always do what is best for Friendship.
The Friendship Community Award was designed to recognize the extraordinary efforts of an individual who, in addition to making a significant positive impact in her department, provides significant volunteer work, personal time, and/or contributions to the betterment of our local community or represents herself and Friendship in the community with distinction. Tanya Scott, Director of Social Services at Friendship Health and Rehab Center North, is a testament to the Friendship mission of supporting friends by providing peace of mind. In addition to her willingness to always assist with organizational fundraisers, she volunteers countless service hours outside of work in the community. She is compassionate and selfless about helping others, assisting with multiple charitable organizations serving youth to seniors.
The Friendship Clinical Award is given to an individual who has made a significant positive clinical impact to her patients and residents, promoted and obtained higher quality standards, improved safety in the workplace, and demonstrated best practices. LPN Pamela Blake exemplifies compassion by always going above and beyond to meet resident needs off and on the job. She loves to train new team members and help current staff with new policies and procedures. She makes resident care a priority by getting to know each individual resident so she can ensure quality care.
