Friendship Appoints Christine Pruett as Director of Nursing for Assisted Living
ROANOKE, Va. (April 22, 2019) – Friendship, a local leader in senior living and rehabilitation, is proud to announce the appointment of Christine Pruett as Director of Nursing for its Assisted Living residence.
“We are thrilled Christina has joined our team,” said Chuck Flynn, Friendship’s Assisted Living Administrator. “She brings great experience and truly values teamwork.”
Pruett began her nursing career in 2002 as a staff nurse. She has since served in a skilled nursing environment as well as in a doctor’s office. She comes to Friendship having already earned her Administrator license.
“I knew at a very young age that I wanted to go into nursing,” said Pruett. “My granddad had a home health nurse who was so special…I admired her a lot and she inspired me to get into this line of work.”
Pruett joined the Friendship team on March 4, and settled in immediately.
“The team here is fantastic, everyone has been so helpful. At the end of my first day, Chuck told me to swing by the dining room. Come to find out, they had prepared dinner for me to take home for me and my husband. No employer has ever done that for me before. It was such a relief to go home on that first day and not have to worry about cooking dinner!”
Friendship’s Assisted Living residence recently underwent major renovations. In January, the front lobby remodel was completed, allowing for visual continuity to Friendship’s Adult Medical Day Care building, The Feinour Center, which is connected securely with a hallway.
“We also made significant upgrades in our kitchen by replacing the entire front line cooking station and installed a new stainless steel hood,” said Flynn. “There are many assisted living choices in the Roanoke Valley, and in order to recruit quality team members like Christine and to attract new residents, Friendship realizes the importance in investing well in our people, environments and services.”
