Friendship Offers ‘Peace of Mind’ Care Packages At Cost To Send to Residents and Team Members

April 6, 2020

ROANOKE, Va. (April 6, 2020) – Friendship, a local leader in senior living and rehabilitation, is offering peace of mind care packages, at cost, to send to Friendship residents and team members, in an effort to fulfill its mission of supporting friends by providing peace of mind.

“Coronavirus has the world reeling, and the threat of it is ever-present in our minds,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Joe Hoff. “However, in times like these, often the good in humanity shines.  I couldn’t be more proud of how the Friendship team has come together to proactively identify and creatively problem-solve challenges this pandemic is creating.”

“There is a lack of food supplies in local stores, many have limited transportation, and we all have concern about being out in the general public to collect supplies,” said Executive Director of Dining Services Luke Campbell.  “Offering these packages allowed us to provide some comfort and food items to people in our buildings, while respecting the requests from local, state and national authorities to limit our travel and activities.”

Friendship is offering three different care package options, ranging in cost from $8 to $18.  One option is the “Tote-ally Awesome Birthday” package, specifically geared to celebrate an individual on their special day.  The contents are being supplemented by Friendship’s vendor partners and the delivery of the items is in compliance with the safety precautions and protocols currently in place at the community’s buildings.

Individuals may purchase a care package by going to: friendship.us/peace-of-mind-care-package.  The online form allows the purchaser to select the desired care package and also include a personalized message.  Buyers may also purchase totes for anonymous residents and team members in need.

“Just as we have residents and team members who have a strong, local support system, we also have folks living and working in our campuses that do not,” said Development Officer Sarah Stephens.  “By purchasing extra totes, individuals can spread joy and peace of mind in these uncertain times.  Everyone’s thoughtfulness and generosity is appreciated, especially now.”

Individuals may also order packages by calling Club Friendship at 540.265.2056. Club Friendship is open to serve the Friendship North campus, Monday-Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
