Friendship Resident Euna Cassell Celebrates Her 105th Birthday
Friendship Health and Rehab Center South (FHRC South), a leader in skilled nursing and post-acute care, celebrated resident Euna Cassell’s 105th birthday with a very special family parade on Friday, November 6, 2020.
Cassell moved to FHRC South three years ago.
“Euna is so very sweet and loves one on one time. Spending quality time with her family and reading cards from them is what she enjoys most. She has a great sense of humor and loves to giggle,” said Activities Director Lauren Hale.
Due to COVID-19 gathering restrictions and regulations Friendship is following as part of the Virginia Department of Health’s Nursing Home Guidance for Phased Reopening, planning a birthday celebration was a challenge.
“We’re having to think outside of the box,” Hale. “Coming up with activities that still engage and celebrate our people has presented unique opportunities, which we have come to truly embrace.”
President and CEO Joe Hoff participated in the celebration and presented Cassell with a flower bouquet.
“Not many people live to be 105,” said Hoff. “It is our honor and pleasure to have Mrs. Cassell in the Friendship fold, and witnessing the lengths the team went through to make sure she felt loved and appreciated was heartwarming. They are certainly living out our mission and values, and I couldn’t be more proud of their efforts.”
Several cars comprised the parade, decorated with sweet messages from family members and loved ones.
