Friendship’s Aaron Crowder Earns Cyber Security Analyst Certification from CompTIA

March 23, 2020

ROANOKE, Va. (March 23, 2020) – Friendship, a local leader in senior living and rehabilitation, is proud to announce Business Systems Analyst Aaron Crowder has earned a certificate in cyber security from Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), a leading voice and advocate in the global information technology industry who offers education, training and certifications to advance the industry and its workforce.  This is the third certification Crowder has earned from the organization.

“In the field of information technology (IT), security is what I’m most passionate about,” said Crowder.  “I want to continue developing my IT security knowledge and hope to obtain my CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+) certification within the next year.”

Crowder came to Friendship in November 2019 from NewBold Corporation, where he served as IT Manager.

“Aaron is a great addition to our information technology team,” said Todd Lowe, Friendship’s director of information technology.  “He brings a desire to do all he can to protect our community.  We greatly appreciate his drive to continue to learn and do all he can to fulfill that calling.”

In addition to security, Friendship’s IT department has been continuing to manage compliancy and has made tremendous strides in upgrading systems organization-wide.

Crowder commended Friendship for its onboard and training processes, especially in regards to interacting with residents, especially those who have dementia.

“As someone who had a grandmother with dementia and was a Friendship resident, I appreciate Friendship’s stance that no matter what your job is or what your responsibilities are, our residents are our first priority,” said Crowder.  “They did a great job instilling that our reality and their reality may be different, but everyone deserves our respect.  I consider it a privilege and honor to do what I can to protect everyone here.”
