Friendship’s First Annual Golf Tournament Raises over $20k
Friendship, a local non-profit leader in senior living and rehabilitation, is proud to announce its first ever golf tournament raised over $20,000. The funds have been directed to the foundation’s Friendship Fund, which was recently established to quickly respond to unbudgeted needs and opportunities of the organization.
“Friendship has many well-established relationships in the Roanoke Valley,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Joe Hoff. “We’re grateful for the response from our vendors and friends who have stepped up so generously.”
79 individuals participated in the tournament, and 43 companies were involved in the inaugural event. Wilbanks, Smith & Thomas and Marsh & McLennan Agency both served as platinum sponsors.
“Both of our platinum sponsors eagerly committed early on in the event planning, and we are very thankful for their partnership and willingness to support our community,” said Hoff.
The tournament took place at Ashley Plantation Country Club, and was originally scheduled for September 17, but due to rain was rescheduled to October 1.
“Rescheduling the tournament turned out to be a great decision,” said Development Officer Sarah Stephens. “As excited as we were to hold the event, being patient paid off as the weather was absolutely perfect. We look forward to this annual event, and hope even more friends in the greater community will take part in this tradition moving forward.”
